From Darkroom Beginnings to Brand Visual Storytelling
I’m Gregory Campbell, a professional photographer and videographer with 25 years of experience. My passion for creating images started long before my career began. While pursuing a Fine Art degree at the University of Georgia, I was given an assignment to hand-build a pinhole camera. That simple project sparked a fascination with image-making—and ultimately ignited the path I’ve followed ever since.​
Throughout college, I worked as a darkroom technician during the romantic age of film, where I developed a deep understanding of exposure, tonal range, and the technical foundations of photography. After graduating, I entered the commercial photography world as an assistant to several well-known creators, gaining hands-on experience and refining my craft on professional sets.
My growing interest in lighting led me into motion pictures—the ultimate classroom for mastering light and visual storytelling. I moved to the West Coast to pursue that path and quickly rose through the ranks, working alongside an incredible group of filmmakers, several of whom have gone on to become Academy Award nominees.​
